What is exclusion service?
Exclusion means getting animals out of your house and sealing the openings they used so they can't come back. Instead of trapping animals inside, we use one-way exits that let them leave, then close every gap with materials they can't chew through. It's the part of wildlife and rodent control that actually lasts.
Can you seal my house the same day?
Often, yes. Same-day appointments are often available in Wayne, and on that visit we can inspect, install one-way exits and seal openings no animal is using. Large repairs, squirrels with babies and bats during restricted months need a planned schedule so no animal is trapped inside.
Why not just seal the hole right away?
Because an animal may still be inside. Sealing a squirrel, raccoon or bat into the attic leads to chewing new holes, a dead animal smell, or an animal getting into the living space. We check first and use a one-way exit where an animal is still living in the house.
Can bats be excluded in November?
Only after an acoustic survey shows no bats are present. In New Jersey, from October 16 through March 31, bats may be hibernating inside, so exclusion requires that survey first. We do acoustic bat surveys ourselves. If bats are there, we plan the exclusion for April or August.
How long does exclusion work last?
Properly done, a long time. We use metal mesh, flashing, vent guards and chimney caps instead of foam or steel wool alone, which animals chew through or push out. New openings can appear as a house ages or if a storm damages the roof, so it's worth checking the roof line once in a while.
What materials do you use to seal openings?
Materials animals can't chew through: galvanized metal mesh, metal flashing, heavy-gauge vent guards, chimney caps, door seals and sealants made for exterior use. The right one depends on the spot. Expanding foam or steel wool alone usually fails, so we don't rely on them.
Do you repair the damage animals caused?
Yes. When squirrels or raccoons have chewed fascia, soffits or vents, those parts need to be repaired or replaced, not just covered. We also clean up droppings with HEPA equipment, treat odors, and remove and replace soiled attic insulation ourselves.
How much does exclusion cost in Wayne?
It depends on the number of openings, the animal, the height and pitch of the roof, how much damage needs repair, and whether cleanup is needed. A couple of garage gaps cost far less than sealing a whole roof line. We give a free quote after the inspection.
